We've been home for a month already. In some ways it's hard to believe it's been that long already and in other ways it seems like forever since we were in Ethiopia. It's amazing how well Kuri has adjusted to life here in Texas. It's like there's been no adjustment at all. She is your typical 4 year old. She's testing her boundaries, is full of life and laughter and more energy than I recall a 4 year old having, and is learning new words and phrases every day. It is exhausting having a little one around once again, but I wouldn't change my life for anything in the world.
We are very blessed to have a neighbor, Ms. Melda, who has come over twice to braid Kuri's hair. She's in love with Kuri and Kuri has really taken to her as well.
As you can see in the picture, Kuri is my little helper. She helped me bake cookies for Hannah and David's school bake sale yesterday. She also likes to help me with the laundry.
Today we went to the dentist which was a trip I was kind of dreading because it looked as though Kuri had several cavities. She did great! She let the hygienist clean her teeth and take x-rays and then let Dr. Jack check her teeth and it turns out the stains on her molars are just that--stains. What a relief!
We're looking forward to Skittle next Thursday night at Six Flags. Hope to see some of you there.
